The Harvester 96 is economical, easy to use and built to last. Tomtec services and supplies best-in-class cage harvesters. The Harvester is a rugged benchtop laboratory instrument designed to collect biologics from a 96-well microplate or microtubes onto a glass fiber filter card in a small workspace.
There is a fast and efficient automatic rinse cycle, the attachments can be easily removed, sonicated or replaced in minutes. To ensure continuous, trouble-free operation, great care has been taken to minimize the number of internal moving parts. For this, there are only five industrial grade stainless steel solenoid valves with a MTBF of several thousand hours. The contents of microplates or microtubes are transferred using a unique and controlled water wash cycle designed to gently suspend adhered biological substances.
Each of the 96 wells is individually processed with a unique flow tip design that washes the wall of the well from top to bottom, adjusting the levels in the wells. The weighed material is aspirated from the bottom of the well and drawn directly into a sterile glass fiber filter card, which is pressure sealed between a double O-ring.
Tomtec offers two versions: for small budget labs and an automated version for high-performance BioPharma labs and research centers. The automated version is equipped with two 9 liter buffer inlets, which are flow controlled. If desired, waste can be sent to one of two separate automatic high level float traps to contain HOT or COLD waste. The built-in microcontroller can program up to 16 unique workflows and store them in memory.
This easy to use and maintain combine is equipped with one reagent line (inlet) and a vacuum line (waste outlet). Supplied with 9 liter reagent bottle and 11.5 liter high level float vacuum self-catcher (for collecting hot or cold waste).
