The lock and worm shaft ensure smooth movement of the flow cell. The flow distributor allows for more uniform packing of the sorbent. The flow distributor can be swiveled out without having to completely remove the adapter kit from the string.
To simplify packing of the column, the gasket is spring loaded (patented technology). Compressed air is required to unlock the gasket. This gasket design provides smooth vertical movement and allows the flow distributor to be accurately positioned on the sorbent without destroying it.
The substrate is made of stainless steel screens with pores of 10 µm, 20 µm or 30 µm, which makes the flow distribution more efficient. This design, in contrast to a single monolithic porous plastic, does not trap air and does not require pre-wetting.
