CellCube Module

The CellCube is a bioreactor that grows adherent cell cultures quickly and easily. The cells are grown in special disposable modules; they are a set of parallel polystyrene plates in a transparent durable polycarbonate case, treated to improve the adhesion of cells to each other.

The modules provide growth areas from 8500 cm2 at 10 plates and 85000 cm2 at 100 plates. The CellCube is very compact and can be deployed in a small area. The system with 4 modules of 100 plates (340,000 cm2 culture surface) is mounted on a stainless steel wheeled cart, occupies 0.8 m2 of area. The modules have ports (input and output) designed for connection to the hardware complex from the control unit, oxygen generator and pumps. By reliably supplying cells with nutrition and oxygen, the CellCube creates the most favorable conditions possible.

Description of the oxygen generator:

• volume - 6 liters (for 10-, 25-, 50- and 100-plate CellCube modules) and 36 liters (for 4 100-plate CellCube modules)
• principle of operation: constant maintenance of a thin film of the culture medium flowing down the walls of the vessel, creates an effective gas exchange without foaming
• direct measurement of the oxygen content in the culture medium before feeding into the module with the O2 sensor

The scope of delivery includes a sterilizable vessel, 100 mm neck cap assembly (autoclavable gel pH electrode, inlet, steel level sensor, 2 culture medium inlet, vent, polarographic O2 sensor 12 mm x 420 mm) and side outlets with 45 mm polypropylene lids (one for sampling the culture medium saturated with oxygen, the second has a level control pipe and a ventilation pipe), culture modules that have passed the pressure test before transportation.
